HTLAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a CPR training course designed for the lay public.
This CPR course will provide the learner with skills and knowledge to recognise an emergency and provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Our CPR courses are delivered by professional emergency workers who train based on their field experience.

This course meets all of the requirements set out by the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation will equip candidates with the skills and knowledge required to
perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
This course applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations including community and workplace settings.
HTLAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training is given by qualified nurses and paramedics who perform CPR in the field.
E-Learning Overview:
Each person will be required to complete e-learning before they come in for the face-to-face workshop. It is expected that the e-learning will take up to 6 hours to complete, depending if you have done a first aid course before or not.
Once you have completed the enrolment process, including payment being made and received, you will be emailed confirmation of your spot in your nominated course.
This email will contain the following information:
- Your e-learning login details
- A delivery and assessment plan
You are required to complete the e-learning before you attend the face-to-face training session. When selecting the date for your course please consider that you will need time to complete the self-directed learning.
The face-to-face training day:
As part of your course you will need to attend, actively participate in all activities, and successfully complete assessment’s during your face-to-face training day. This includes:
- Performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
- Performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface
If you are unable to participate in the above requirements than you are required to speak to Perth Training Institute before you complete your registration.
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
There are a number of entry requirements in order for participants to successfully complete the qualification. These entry requirements are as follows:
Communication
Participants are required to speak and write in English and must have good literacy and numeracy skills. In order to meet the competency of this course participants will be required to communicate complex skills to other participants.
All participants requiring any further assistance in literacy and/or numeracy support may be referred to a third party provider at an additional cost. Once the participant is ready they can then commence the course.
Physical capacity
Must be able to get on the floor to perform CPR for 2 minutes on a minimum of 2 occasions
Access to Technology
Learners are also required to have access to a computer or laptop to enable them to complete the e-learning component
